Refer a Child for an Outdoor Scholarship

Every child deserves the chance to spend time outdoors — learning real skills, building confidence, and experiencing the kind of growth that only happens outside.

Through the Find Me Outside Foundation, we provide scholarship opportunities that allow young people to participate in outdoor skills and fishing camps who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

Many of the children who benefit most from these experiences are identified by people who already know them — parents, teachers, coaches, community leaders, and mentors.

If you know a child who would benefit from time outdoors, we invite you to refer them for consideration.

Who Can Be Referred

Children can be referred by:

  • Parents or family members
  • Teachers or school administrators
  • Coaches or youth leaders
  • Churches or nonprofit organizations
  • Community mentors
  • Friends or neighbors who know the child well

We welcome referrals for youth who would benefit from mentorship, outdoor experience, and the confidence that comes from learning new skills.

Scholarship Categories ->

Scholarships are awarded across several categories so we can recognize both need and potential.

Access Scholarships ->

For children whose families may not currently have the financial ability to participate in camps or organized outdoor programs. These scholarships ensure that cost is never the reason a child misses the opportunity to get outside.

Excellence Scholarships ->

For students who demonstrate exceptional effort, dedication, or achievement in school. These scholarships celebrate young people who are working hard academically and provide them with an opportunity to experience outdoor learning and adventure.

Community Leadership Scholarships ->

For youth who show leadership within their school, community, church, or local organizations. These children are often the ones already helping others — and we believe investing in their growth multiplies their impact.

Conservation & Outdoor Stewardship Scholarships ->

For young people who show a passion for nature, wildlife, conservation, or protecting the outdoors. These scholarships support the next generation of outdoor stewards and environmental leaders.

Why Referrals Matter

Some of the most deserving kids are the ones who would never ask for this opportunity themselves.

A simple referral can open the door for a young person to:

  • Learn fishing and outdoor survival skills
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Spend meaningful time outside instead of behind a screen
  • Connect with mentors and positive role models
  • Discover new passions and abilities
  • Sometimes all it takes is one person recognizing their potential.
